Role requirements and responsibilities.

  • Erection of a suspended/swinging stage platforms for terminating of strainer towers
  • Working the strainer crew aerial and ground – sagging/termination conductor/OPG
  • Working the brake site drum change up to 6 winches and mid spans
  • Working clamping crew – pullies/clamping/spaces/jumpers
  • Operating all terrain Tadano crane 55t, Telehandlers and forklifts
  • Dogging multiple crane lifts
  • Demolition of transmission
  • Demolition of towers with helicopter
  • Examine objects to be moved, estimate their size, shape and weight and decide on the type of equipment necessary
  • Help prepare lift plans for rigging for stringing – set up of winch and brake site
  • Plan, secure and move loads whilst ensuring stability of load
  • Ensuring all crane and rigging activities are undertaking in a safe and coordinated manner with compliance to site SWP and OHS standards
  • Maintain safe work environment by complying with procedures, rules and safety guidelines
  • Maintaining cranes and lifting equipment in a clean, tidy and safe condition
  • Ensured all reasonable steps are taken in order to achieve industrial harmony within the organisation at all times

  • Ability to determine correct equipment to use
  • Exceptional experience in all tilt panel erection
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in structural steel
  • Strong understanding of reading HD plans and accurate installation
  • Ability to perform bolting and tensioning of bolts as required
  • Ensure work is carried out to site specifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively establish relationships both internally and externally
  • Assist the team with any day today issues, this including from initial site set up to the final concrete pouring, and finishing stage

  • Setting up site – installing office huts and smoko huts and storage containers
  • Steel erection and stringing of 500/330/220kV substations in NSW
  • Terminating and stinging of quad conductor and quad jumpers for landing spans
  • Stinging of bays in the substation from twin span to quad span
  • Conduct rigging techniques by SWMS for replacing of old heavy porcelain insulators on 500kV strainers to new rubber insulators
  • Installing twin and quad droppers and jumpers in substation
  • Stringing of temporary diversions while construction of substations
  • De stringing of temporary diversion once constructed
  • Experience in operating mobile cranes up to 60t
  • Experience in rigging structural steel, poles, lattice bridges and lattice towers
  • Experience in plant and equipment rigging
  • Maintained the implementations of hazard assessments and risk controls

  • Running cables up cable trays in a uniformed manner
  • Panning of link dishes for best signal

  • Building racks
  • Foundations and stub setting, preparing slabs for huts
  • Erection of mono poles, lattice towers and guyed towers
  • Reinforcing old lattice towers and installing dishes etc
